About Pict Guitars
When I started Pict Guitars, I had a vision of sustainably made handcrafted instruments that are both visually & audibly stunning. With a name coming from my ancestors in Northern Scotland, I drew inspiration from the mysterious painted folk who respected and thrived in the nature of the landscape around them.
I started my Luthier’s journey back in January 2019 when I enrolled in the prestigious Lagan Lutherie School, learning under Master Luthier Sam Irwin. At the same time I secured a job role with a equally prestigious guitar brand in Northern Ireland. With real passion and dedication, I quickly made my way through various roles in the company while also creating my very first handcrafted guitar.
As a few years passed I formed my own ideas on guitar making. As a passionate musician I knew what I longed for in a guitar, not an instrument that would be kept in its case, but something beautiful that calls to be played. As someone with a strong connection to nature and the world around us, I knew for certain that I must combine this idea with sustainability, which has led me to explore some incredible tonewoods.
Stunning tone, beautiful visuals and incredible playability. These are just a few of the words to describe a Pict guitar.
The Guitar
This absolutely stunning guitar is fresh from the workbench. Made completely by hand with no CNC start to finish, every aspect of this guitar has been crafted meticulously, using the finest materials that truly speak for themselves.
This one of a kind guitar features beautiful Australian Blackwood with Sitka Spruce bracing. The finish is a stunning oil and shellac combination, leaving a satin sheen and fantastic projection due to the natural open finish. The tone is best described as warm and vibrant with lots of volume and incredible sustain.
Pict Guitars has sustainability at the forefront of their guitars and this one is no exception.
Please note: this guitar comes with a hardcase. If you would like a pickup system fitted please don't hesitate to message me as this can be arranged. Any additional requests will be charged accordingly (i.e price of the pickup system etc)
